In 1997, St. James Hospital and Dr. Nick DiGiovine collaborated to develop the St. James Sports Medicine Program. This program was created to provide athletes and active adults in southwest Montana with access to the highest quality healthcare.

Under the direction of medical director Dr. Bryan Mark, the St. James Sports Medicine team is dedicated to the education, prevention, rehabilitation, and treatment of sports-related injuries and illness. They provide licensed athletic trainers and team physicians to junior highs, high schools, and universities throughout southwest Montana, including Montana Tech. These healthcare providers keep student-athletes healthy and safe.

McKenzi Adams joined the athletic training team at Montana Tech in June of 2019 and was named the head athletic trainer for the Orediggers in spring of 2022. 

Before coming to Montana Tech, Adams, a native of Pocatello, Idaho, worked with the sports medicine staff at Southern Utah University. She previously worked as an intern strength coach at Idaho State University while earning her master's in athletic training. Adams received her bachelor's degree in exercise science from Idaho State.

Trey Vincent joined the athletic training team at Montana Tech in June of 2019.

Vincent has previously worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Central Washington University, where he earned his master's in integrative human physiology. Vincent received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology-athletic training at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. 

Vincent is originally from Helena and enjoys hiking, fly fishing, and spending time outdoors with his wife, Mackenzie, and son, Henry.

Chris Brown joined the athletic training staff at Montana Tech during the spring of 2021. 

Brown has worked for St. James Sports Medicine since 2012 and was the athletic trainer for Twin Bridges High School before joining the Orediggers. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in athletic training from George Fox University in Oregon in 2010. A Montana native, Brown grew up in Plains and enjoys outdoor activities.


 

Bryan Mark, MD

Dr. Bryan Mark is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He treats a variety of musculoskeletal conditions with the goal of returning patients back to the active and fit lifestyles they desire. Dr. Mark offers comprehensive surgical treatment of the knee and shoulder including cartilage restoration and joint preservation. He utilizes minimally invasive techniques and performs injections, ligament repair/reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery. 
 
Dr. Mark obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in integrated physiology. He received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the University of California Irvine. Finally, Dr. Mark completed his fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. During his time at UCLA, he treated a variety of collegiate athletes, including football, basketball, softball, baseball, tennis, and volleyball. He also served as a team orthopedic surgeon for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Sparks. 
 
Born and raised in south Denver, Dr. Mark enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle and spending time outdoors with his wife and his two dogs.

Chris has been the head athletic trainer for St. James Sports Medicine for over 20 years. InterMountain Health St. James Hospital currently provides schools with athletic training coverage across Southwest Montana. He also serves as the manager of therapy and orthopedic services at St. James Healthcare. During his tenure with InterMountain Health St. James Hospital, he spent 10 years as the head athletic trainer for the Butte Central Maroons.
